My name is Jenna DiMarco- it is so nice to meet you! I am a student, a best friend, a girlfriend, a sister, and a Human Resources intern! Balancing all of these different pieces can be hard but each hold a very special place in my life. I blog to show users the world of Human Resources and its importance in every setting whether it be corporate or small business. Human Resource Management is a passion of mine and an occupation I have discovered very early as a passion due to my love of talking to people and resolving pressing problems. Through my positions held in the field, I have acquired many skills and achieved goals that have helped me shape my personality, my work ethic, and my balance of all things above!
Formerly, I was the Human Resources intern for Global Information and Technology at Colgate-Palmolive in Piscataway, New Jersey. I managed thirty interns from four different technology disciplines including application and software development, information security, enterprise service management, and infrastructure. Through our online database I tracked and reviewed resumes, phone screened candidates, interviewed potential hires on-site, and then ultimately made final offers. Once the interns were hired, I then became their point of contact and helped facilitate their summer project presentations to make sure they were on-track at all times. The key to easing in my workload happened to be modern technology. In that role we used SAP systems and learning Platforms such as Mind Spark and to be honest I don’t know where HR would be without technology!
Keep up with my page to learn more about the technologies we use and challenges faced. I cannot wait to see where life takes me but all hopeful Human Resources students should follow my blog to find out!
